What are Neuromodulators?

You have likely heard the term Botox before you heard the word Neuromodulators; They are one in the same, Botox is the brand name of one of the neuromodulators approved for use in Canada. Others include Xeomin, Dysport and Nucevia.

Neuromodulators are injected into the skin and work by disengaging the contraction function of the muscle there by allowing the muscle to release, relax and smooth out which gives the skin a chance to soften; by doing it has the effect of decreasing or eliminating the tension in the tissue, giving the look of less wrinkled skin and decreasing oil production.

Typically neuromodulators for cosmetic reasons includes the reduction or elimination of fine line and wrinkles but we mostly use  them for their  therapeutic value. It is highly effective in relieving TMJ pain, migraines/headaches, neck and upper back pain as well as hyperhidrosis to name a few.

Our goal is to provide the situation where a natural look (if done on the face ) is achieved but more  importantly to release the tension/contracture of the muscles there by relieving pain.
